Insurance

Personal insurance
It is essential that you have travel insurance, both to protect you against liability in the event of cancellation and also to cover medical and other losses whilst on holiday. It is a condition of booking that you must have adequate travel insurance in place and any alternative cover should be at least equivalent to that shown below.

Vintage Travel have arranged competitive travel insurance with Travel & General Insurance Services Limited. Our standard policy is underwritten by the Ace European Group Limited (ACE - firm referrence 202 803). Vintage Spain Ltd is an Appointed Representitive of Travel and General Insurance Company Plc (FSA firm referrence 304788). All three companies are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Full details can be found on the FSA register by visiting their website www.fsa.gov.uk or by contacting them on 0845 606 1234

Our Mature Traveller policy is underwritten by the PTI Insurance Company Limited except for the Legal Expenses section which is underwritten by Enterprise Insurance Company PLC. Both companies are authorised and regulated by Financial Services Commission (FSC) in Gibraltar. The FSC holds a register of all regulated firms on its website (www.fsc.gi). The standard policy document is also applicable to mature travellers.

Eligibility
Our travel insurance is only available to UK, Republic of Ireland and EU member residents.

Insurance Premiums

Insurance premiums shown above and throughout this site are inclusive of 20% Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).

Evidence of insurance
A policy document that fully defines the cover, conditions and exclusions will be sent to you with your booking confirmation. When you receive your policy, please take the time to read it carefully to ensure you understand what is and what is not covered, and that all activities that you may wish to participate in are included. If it does not meet your requirements, please return the policy, proof of premium and any other relevant documents to us within 14 days of receipt and we will refund the premium in full, provided you have not travelled or made a claim.

Health declaration
An insurance policy can only provide cover in respect of an event/occurrence which is sudden, unforeseen and beyond your reasonable control. Therefore any facts known to you, which could possibly result in you having to make a claim, must be disclosed otherwise you may not be covered. In addition, anyone named as insured under this policy (the legal guardian must make the declaration for anyone under the age of 18 years old) must have read and understood the following relating to Pre-existing Medical Conditions:

PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Travel & General Services Ltd are sympathetic to the needs of those with a pre-existing medical condition and will endeavour to provide cover wherever possible. Simply call Healthcheck on 0844 826 2711, and speak to a knowledgeable advisor who will be able to conduct a medical screening service over the phone.

Cover is excluded for any defined pre-existing medical condition. If in doubt please call our Healthcheck in confidence on: 0844 826 2711
Insurance Premiums

The Healthcheck helpline may be contacted between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday and 10.00 to 16.00 on Saturdays. The medical screening Healthcheck is optional for those persons wishing to establish if additional cover may be offered to include Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. You will be asked for your personal and travel details. If known, please have your individual policy number to hand.

CONDITIONS, EXCLUSIONS AND WARRANTIES

Claims for baggage and personal effects
The insurance does not provide cover on a 'new for old' basis, which means that deductions for age, wear and tear will be made where applicable.

Sums insured or limits
All sections of the insurance have a limit on the amount that the insurer will pay. Some sections have internal limits such as the amount the insurer will pay for any one item or the total amount for all valuables.

Insurance Premiums

Excesses
The above table shows any excess that is payable.

Reasonable care
You are required to take reasonable care of yourself and your property.

Activities
The insurance may not cover you when you take part in certain activities. You must check that the insurance covers your requirements.

Failure to comply with the terms & conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted.

If you have any doubts concerning the cover provided please contact Travel & General Services Ltd, C/o CSA by telephone 0845 4080 583.
