This panorama is equally visible from the smart decking surrounding the pool, where elegant sofas sit beneath a shaded pergola and offer the perfect setting in which to sit back and enjoy the stunning vistas that dominate the horizon. Watching the sunset from any viewpoint is a delight, particularly when accompanied by something chilled, whilst clever lighting turns evenings around the pool into an enchanting spot. The barbecue creates a focus for al fresco dining, as tantalising aromas awaken appetites heightened by a day in the sun. Next to the domed archways of the pastel yellow façade, a veranda is the main outdoor dining area, benefitting from the panoramas of greenery and sea. The cool contemporary interior is comfortable with a modern décor and well equipped kitchen. To the front, two twin and one double bedroom share a shaded balcony which stretches the length of all three rooms, and is cooler for afternoons and good for a holiday read (or forty winks!).
Nissaki is one of the most desirable regions of Corfu. Its pleasant white pebble beach is lapped by transparent waters and nestles below verdant Mount Pantokrator. Just 500m below, an excellent local bakery, three supermarkets and little Kafenions are strung out along the coastal road that spreads through the Nissaki region, whilst traditional tavernas enjoy great beachside settings. From here, head inland high into the fertile interior, where a wealth of olive, orange and lemon groves grow alongside cypress trees and the pungent aroma of wild herbs pervades.
Corfu town is justifiably a world heritage site and well worth exploring. Within its fortified walls, precarious balconies overhang narrow alleyways of shiny cobbled stone that catch the early morning light, best appreciated whilst enjoying a coffee in one of the many cafes as the townspeople go about their business. Stroll around the arcaded Liston, where a row of shops has existed since Napoleonic times, or sip an aperitif in the main square and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this unique Venetian-influenced capital.
