Villa Description

To learn that the owners' occupation was interior design came as no surprise to our inspecting team as we wandered from one beautifully furnished room to the next in this impressive country house.

Villa: Casa Camboa

The restoration of the 100 year old property has incorporated materials of the finest quality. Hand-made tiles line the walls of the attractive bathrooms, plump sofas and soft lighting combine to create a cosy sitting room and the dining room opens onto a light conservatory where further cushioned seating and table are designed to take advantage of the picturesque views. The overall effect is without a doubt one of comfort, and yet the accommodation is not precious, the solid furnishings being refreshingly uncluttered.

Equally charming is the setting. The very local village of Vilacoba, with its traditional stone buildings and vineyards, lies to the back of the house and its small shop and bar can be reached on foot. To the front, wide tiered lawns sweep down to form a sheltered arc beyond the swimming pool terrace, the views beyond this incorporating a scene of lush woodland on rolling slopes. In the background, the pleasant sound of the nearby river can be heard as it meanders its way through the valley below

Whilst basic items can be purchased in the village, a wider range of amenities and a restaurant can be found in the nearby town of Moraña, which is 5km away. Also close to hand is the historic town of Pontevedra with its attractive old quarter and nearby sandy beaches,which can be reached by way of a 30 minute drive.
