In an elevated position off a wooded country lane, this fine Portuguese manor house enjoys a privileged location, with the pretty garden town of Monçao and the charming walled centre of Valença, two of the region's treasures, being equidistant. Both are a mere 8km away, whilst the nearby sea can be reached by way of a 20 minute drive.

The restored property displays the talents of a top Portuguese designer, who has skillfully incorporated practical accessories of the most modern style with the charming traditional features that befit a house of this age. Light and spacious are adjectives that spring to mind when describing the accommodation. Downstairs, the beautifully furnished rooms flow from one to another through attractive arches, bordered with light exposed stone. Upstairs, each immaculately presented bedroom boasts its own private bath or shower room.

Step outside onto an attractive patio and a pretty stone path leads the way through wide lawns to the swimming pool, which is flanked by terraces and looks out onto a pleasing panorama of lush wooded slopes. With the towns of Valença and Monçao close to hand, a short drive will take you to a wide range of shops and restaurants, although some 500m from the house is a small cafe/shop that sells basic items.

Being close to the Spanish border, the sandy beaches of the chic coastal resort of Baiona are only 17km from the property and are thus an attractive option for a day trip.
