This large, imposing and spacious former farmhouse basks in three acres of private grounds on the outskirts of sleepy S'Horta. All amenities, including a local tapas bar, are within walking distance and one of Mallorca's prettiest cove beaches just 4.5km away.

Internally, quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings are enhanced by traditional, tasteful décor. Pictures of rural scenes (handiwork of the house owner herself) adorn the expansive dining hall and many character features have been carefully preserved. Exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and hand painted local tiles are all very much in evidence. The stylish kitchen is very well equipped and conveniently adjacent to a most impressive covered barbecue terrace that looks onto the garden and private pool.

From the first floor, striking views stretch out across a swathe of countryside to the sparkling sea; a quite marvellous panorama encompassing the indented coastline between the fishing villages of Portocolom on the left and Portopetro on the right.

Reached by a winding country lane through carob trees, the nearest beach, Cala Sa Nau (4.5km), is also one of the island's finest - a charming cove with white sand and clear, sparkling waters. Several more unspoilt beaches are easily found within a 20 minute drive, the Vall d'Or golf course is only 2km and various watersports including scuba diving and boat hire are on offer in nearby Cala d'Or and Portopetro.

S'Horta is home to a couple of minimarkets, a chemist, tapas bar and two cafés . A stroll of 1.2km takes you to a Thai/pizzeria (!) with the well known Bona Taula restaurant 200m further. Various eateries dot the surrounding country lanes and there are many good fish restaurants in both Portocolom and around the impressive marina at Cala d'Or.

Parties paying the small party rate will have use of three bedrooms only. Please advise bedroom preferences at time of booking.
