This glorious 18th century farmhouse is a fine example of its type. Sympathetically renovated over a number of years, it is set in its own enclosed mature gardens with a hedged boundary to ensure privacy. Should you feel able to tear yourself away from this peaceful rural locale however, La Ferme Margot is a delightful spot to base yourself whilst visiting the Dordogne area.

Approaching the house, you are drawn by the charm of the honey coloured stone façade that contrasts so attractively with the verdant lawn surround. Picture window doors overlooking the garden lead into the impressive living/dining room where the vast fireplace on an end wall immediately catches the eye.

Spacious and authentic, the kitchen boasts a large refectory style dining table whilst the flooring is of beige stone tiles, the ceiling is beamed and, typical of the area, one wall is constructed from red brick coloured tiles.

La Ferme Margot is situated in the Périgord Blanc region and you will find many places within easy driving distance such as the town of Hautefort (11km) with its grand château and formal gardens,Thiviers (32km) with its picturesque old streets, or the ancient and truly gastronomic Périgueux (31km), best visited on market day when stalls in its lively medieval heart offer the pick of local specialities.

Much closer to home is the little village of Ste Eulalie d'Ans (2km) where you will find a bar, 'épicerie' and 'boulangerie'.
