Imagine stepping out of your garden gate and following a country lane for just under 200 metres to reach a dune-backed beach of fine white sand, where a collection of homes, a beach bar and local restaurant do little to interrupt the lush green slopes that rise gently from either end of the shore. Ahead, looking out to sea, the distinctive silhouette of the nearby Cíes Islands forms an impressive backdrop.
This is the enviable situation of La Pintoresca, which, set just back from the unspoilt beach of Limens, enjoys one of the most sought after locations in this pretty corner of Galicia. With such a superb beach so close to hand, you will no doubt spend much of your time here. Nevertheless, should you decide to retreat to the privacy of your own pool, the enclosed neatly presented grounds of the property with their wide lawns and spacious barbecue area offer a thoroughly attractive setting in which to do so.
From here, a covered terrace, accessed by steps, leads the way to the interior, where a smart living area with light tiled floors is cosy and welcoming. Upstairs, wooden floors and ceilings add character to the comfortable bedrooms, and an open terrace looks out across the garden to the nearby water.
Whilst the local restaurant and small shop by the beach can be reached on foot, a journey of just 3km takes you to the waterside town of Cangas, which offers all amenities, some excellent restaurants and a twice weekly market. From here, you may wish to take one of the frequent 20 minute ferry crossings over the water to Vigo, a bustling and attractive centre with a wide range of shops and a daily morning fish market.
