Situated on the edge of the local town of Vila de Prado, this beautifully maintained manor house with its extensive grounds of sweeping lawns, wide terraces, swimming pool and tennis court is yours in its entirety.
The numerous living areas that spread throughout the spacious interior will delight large groups and sharing families. Whilst the vast windows that line one side of the house create a bright and attractive eating area, the adjacent formal dining room conveys an air of splendour, housed between high walls of thick stone.
Beyond, the original stone wine cellar has been tastefully converted to house an attractive games room. Throughout, original features are combined with modern conveniences to create a comfortable and immaculate interior. Pretty armchairs sit upon wooden floors in the light sitting room; modern bathrooms display borders of attractive tiles and fine furnishings of solid wood decorate the bedrooms.
Outside in the spacious grounds, the swimming pool and tennis court sit amidst well kept lawns and terraces, and an ornate chapel adjoins the house. On one side, neat rows of fruit trees line the banks of the nearby river, whilst the local town of Vila de Prado sits conveniently on the other, its pleasing range of shops and restaurants being a short stroll from the house. Well placed for visits to a number of historic centres, the ancient town of Braga is a mere 15 minutes away whilst Barcelos with its famous Thursday morning market can be reached within half an hour. The long dune-backed beaches of the coast at Esposende are a 50 minute drive although the wide sandy river beaches of the Rio Cavado lie within walking distance of the house.
The housekeepers live in a cottage in the grounds but do not use the private swimming pool and tennis court. Flexible changeover days may be possible over certain periods at this house. Please enquire.
