This must surely be one of the best situations we have come across! A comfortable house, with pretty gardens and a position on the edge of the lovely River Minho estuary with far reaching views across to Galicia on the other side. Within the village and enclosed by high walls, it enjoys open views across the pool level to the river beyond. It is very much a family home and occupies a wonderful spot on the water's edge.
The interior is well equipped for self catering, with practical open plan kitchen and living areas and many of the rooms enjoy sweeping river views.
A meander down a cobbled lane from the gates of the house will bring you to the river, and here you can enjoy a drink in a little summer bar, or continue up another path crossing the single track railway to the village centre 5 minutes away, where you will find all local amenities. Several trains pass daily but none at night and from the small village station you have easy access to all resorts down the coast, or further afield to Viana and Porto.
Seixas has all local amenities; the historic market town of Caminha with a pretty square and good restaurants is 3km away and the once fortified border town of Valença with its textile shops is 25 minutes away. There are regular ferries to Spain from Caminha and although there is river access from the house, we recommend that you drive the 10 minutes or so to the coast where you will find country beaches.
When the small party rate is paid, 2 bedrooms and 2 bath/shower rooms will be prepared. Please advise which bedrooms and bath/shower rooms you require at the time of booking.
