As we wandered from one beautifully furnished room to another and marvelled at the panoramic vista of uninterrupted wooded hills from the spacious and well tended grounds, we were in no doubt that this finely restored country home should be included in our portfolio.

The refurbishment has incorporated materials of the highest quality. Carved wooden ceilings have been designed to reflect the traditional style, attractive fabrics are carefully coordinated and gleaming bathrooms display pretty combinations of wood and marble.

Each bedroom is privileged to its own en suite bath or shower room, whilst a separate cloakroom lies off the kitchen and can be easily accessed by all. From the spacious living room, doors open out onto the grassy gardens and stone terraces that surround the house, where the facilities are equally impressive.

Enclosed to the rear by a high wall, the property sits in an elevated position on the slopes of a tree covered river valley and commands impressive views across the hillside. On an upper level sits the house, flanked by a smart lawn and pretty stone terraces on one side and a superb summerhouse on the other.

The summerhouse echoes the style of the main house, displaying the same fine furnishings and quality materials. Its spacious dining room is separated from a fully equipped kitchen by a stone built barbecue and wide windows line the walls on all sides to reveal the picturesque surroundings.  Step out of the summerhouse, walk down some steps and the large swimming pool sits on a lower level, surrounded by wide terraces. Below this, the tennis court lies amidst spacious landscaped grounds, which are backed by wooded hillside.

Whilst the property enjoys a rural setting, amenities are nevertheless close to hand.The local shop in the small village of Cabração is about 1km from the house, whilst the pretty riverside town of Ponte de Lima is 12km away and offers all amenities and a wide range of local restaurants.

The sandy dune-backed beaches that stretch both north and south of the attractive port of Viana do Castelo can be reached by way of a 20 minute drive.
