Originally a farmhouse, complete with the traditional olive terraces, Grillo was also used at one time for drying the grapes used to make the local 'vin santo'. Today, it has been transformed into an immaculate and beautiful property where the closest you will probably get to work is sipping a glass of the delicious sweet wine on one of the many terraces.

Its situation is as beautiful as the property. A small country lane winds its way up the valley from San Leo Bastia until you reach Grillo, set amongst a forest of oak trees with far reaching views across the Seano Cortona Valley that can be appreciated from the first floor balcony or bedroom windows.

Inside, the care and attention to detail is immediately apparent in the choice of local handmade items of furniture, the vibrant Persian rugs and traditional wrought iron beds.

This is truly a tranquil hideaway, a place to appreciate the wonderful countryside. From the house, there is access to the walking trails through the forest. However, you are not too far from village life.

A small shop, bar and restaurant can be found in San Leo Bastia (15 minute drive) with more choice in Umbertide (20km). The country roads will also bring you to Cortona (25km) and eventually Lake Trasimeno (45km).
