Approached by way of a country track edged with fields that fill with sunflowers in season, Villa Orizzonti sits in grounds of 1.5 acres on a hillside overlooking the unspoilt countryside so typical of Le Marche.
Everything about the property has been designed to ensure maximum comfort and seclusion for a family or a group of friends. The living areas flow seamlessly from one to another, creating areas for relaxation and entertaining. French windows open out onto the terrace and garden, allowing light to flood into the warm and inviting interior. The bedrooms too have received the same care and attention given to the rest of the house.
Terracotta tiled floors, cool white walls and beamed ceilings form the backdrop to carefully chosen solid wood furniture, whilst ceiling fans ensure the rooms stay cool during the heat of summer. An additional bedroom, complete with en suite shower room, can be found in the separate annexe a mere 6m from the main house, an eminently suitable choice for teenagers or grandparents who are looking for some additional privacy.
But, it is surely by the pool you will while away the days. The covered veranda, just off the living room, overlooks the pool and view and is furnished with a large table for al fresco dining. Solid teak outdoor furniture, including an unusual double sunlounger, sits on the terrace, inviting you to relax and enjoy the views.
Thoughtfully incorporated into the pool is a separate shallow section, ideal for babies and young ones. Children will no doubt love the expanse of lawn on which to play.
Tear yourself away from this setting and you will find plenty to discover in this part of Le Marche. A variety of amenities and restaurants can be found in the medieval town of Tolentino, a 10 minute drive away. Macerata (20km) is famous for its open air opera festival during the summer, but is worth exploring at any time.
Nature lovers will enjoy walking in the Sibillini National Park (15km) or swimming in Lake Fiastra. In the opposite direction, the beaches at Porto Sant'Elpidio, Porto Recanati and Porto San Giorgio offer the chance to enjoy the seaside, Italian style.
Groups of up to 6 persons paying the small party rate will have use of the main house only.
