Houses for couples or smaller groups that offer the comfort and convenience of a private pool are hard to find and so it was with delight that we discovered Casa Olivo, a smart and immaculately presented cottage that sits within an enclosed and pretty garden. Adding further to the appeal is its situation, since the house is a mere 10 minute drive from a wide range of sandy coves and beaches, making this a perfect base for a holiday by the sea.
Within the attractive grounds, a swimming pool sits alongside an area of lawn, around the side of which elegant flowerbeds display a stylish range of tropical plants, interspersed with ornate pebbles. Inside, a smart décor combines elements of both traditional and modern design. Exposed wooden beams contrast pleasingly with crisp painted walls to add an air of rusticity to the open plan living area, whilst in the attractive bedrooms colourful fabrics dress solid wood furnishings with charming effect.
A drive of just 1km from the house along a country lane that is bordered by woodland takes you to El Colorado, where the nearest shops and restaurants can be found. Alternatively, follow the road through the woodland in the other direction to discover the many sandy beaches that stretch north of the charming seaside town of Conil de la Frontera, where a wide selection of restaurants can be found within a delightful network of narrow whitewashed streets.
