  • Ground floor: Entrance hall/dining room (feature fireplace, CD). Kitchen (microwave, dishwasher, washing machine) with door to terrace. Double bedroom with en suite bathroom and door to terrace. Two single interconnecting children's bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom). Sitting room (fireplace, TV, DVD) with French windows.
  • First floor: Small landing with door to small balcony. Double bedroom with en suite bathroom.
  • Outside: Pretty garden of lawns and flowerbeds. Open and covered terraces. Barbecue. Private parking
  • Private swimming pool (10m x 6m).

Just inland from the local fishing town of Vila Praia de Ancora, a series of cobbled lanes wind their way up through lush wooded countryside to the little stone hamlet of Lage. Here, in an elevated position at the top of the village, A Casinha commands far reaching views across a picturesque rural landscape from its pretty terraces and poolside lawns, with a thick forest of eucalyptus dominating to the rear.

This unquestionably pretty setting and superb panoramic vista are two of the qualities that make this such an appealing residence. The thoughtfully positioned swimming pool provides the perfect place from which to soak up the scene whilst the terrace that lines the eastern façade of the house will doubtless become a well frequented area throughout the holiday.  Here, guests have the option of choosing a sun soaked corner or retreating to the shade under a foliage covered pergola, just to the side of which a barbecue is conveniently located for cooking meals al fresco.

Equally inviting is the cosy interior, where attractive colour schemes, well stocked bookshelves and wide sofas generously strewn with bright cushions create the ambiance of a homely and much loved country cottage. The two main bedrooms are spacious and each benefit from the convenience of en suite facilities, whilst the two small single rooms that lie under the eaves at the back of the house are ideal for younger occupants.

For trips out, the nearest beaches are only a 5 minute drive away in Vila Praia de Ancora, where a wide range of shops, restaurants, and a daily fresh fish market can also be found. Alternatively, a 5 minute walk downhill from the house brings you the local village shop, which sells basic items.
