An elevated setting enables this sensitively restored 17th century stone-built Béarnais farmhouse to enjoy lovely country views over maize fields and wooded hills, with a distant backdrop of the Pyrenées.

Although very much in a rural setting, Maison Cluque is only a short drive to the amenities of Sauveterre, perched above the river. It is here that enthusiasts of rafting and canoeing can pursue their interest.

The picture postcard spa town of Salies-de-Béarn is around 6km to the north-west and only a short distance further to medieval Orthez. Those who hanker for the coast will not lose out with the beautiful Atlantic beaches around Biarritz accessible in under an hour.

Maison Cluque provides spacious accommodation which is suitable for sharing families since there are two bedroom suites, each with bathroom, on each floor. Both the typical kitchen/breakfast room with open hearth and the adjacent comfortable beamed sitting room open onto the sheltered dining terrace.

Conveniently sited alongside this is a barn with table tennis, whilst the good sized swimming pool, a little further off, sits amid a garden of lawn and established shrub borders.
