The fine white sandy beach of Limens has for a long time been one of our favourite spots along this stunning stretch of coastline. Backed by a collection of homes, a beach bar and a family run restaurant, it looks out across an eye-catching vista of sheltered waters, bordered by lush green slopes, towards the distinctive silhouette of the Cíes Islands that marks the horizon in the distance. It was therefore with great delight that we discovered Casa Aréas, which occupies a privileged position in this much sought after neighbourhood.
From the upper lawns and terraces of its enclosed and beautifully maintained garden, breathtaking views across the water can be surveyed, whilst down below a generously proportioned swimming pool of 15 metres in length sits within a smart terrace of terracotta tiles. Whilst keen swimmers could be forgiven for not wishing to leave this fine pool, the beach is so close that it too is likely to become a well frequented spot; just slip the catch of the front gate and walk 300 metres down the lane to reach the waterfront.
Inside, the light and spacious home has been equipped and laid out for family breaks by the sea, with terraces leading off both the ground and first floors offering fantastic sea views and easy access to and from the garden.
With the beach and a delightful local restaurant only a short walk from the house, you may not feel the need to venture any further. Close to hand however is the waterside town of Cangas, which is just 3km away and offers all amenities, some excellent restaurants and a twice weekly market.
