Elegant, stylish, smart and tasteful; frankly we cannot praise this outstanding property highly enough and are truly thrilled to include it in our Algarve collection. In the same family as both Casa da Montanha and Casa de Baixo, Casa das Pedras is a wonderful addition to this select portfolio and can more than hold its own amongst such rarefied company. In common with its sister properties the refurbishment of this grand country house has been a true labour of love for the owners and, once again, it is extremely difficult to find any fault with the design, facilities, décor and general attention to detail which are all more than impressive.
On a low hill, just 12km from the coast and only 4km from the sleepy, authentically Portuguese village of Boliqueime, the location alone is enviable.
From the poolside, the various terraces and many of the rooms a remarkable panorama across the countryside to the sea unfurls before you; an impressive swathe of Algarve coastline that is bordered only by the Atlantic Ocean sparkling as far as the distant horizon.
Superbly appointed, each of the five bedrooms, individually furnished and decorated, has independent air conditioning and its own en suite bath or shower room. The spacious living/dining room is also air conditioned and has all modern comforts, a large games room with table football, a snooker table and PlayStation sits to one side of the ground floor.
Outside, competition for your attention is equallly keen. The larger than average private pool, separate children's pool, summer kitchen, tennis court and lovely landscaped grounds mean you are spoilt for choice before you have even paused to look at the views! The nearest beach is just a 20 minute drive and what a beach it is; Praia de Falésia, a broad sweeping stretch of honey-coloured sand is also one of the Algarve's best.
Boliqueime (2.5km) and Paderne (8km), have shops, bars and local restaurants, where you can still find amazing value 'prato de dia' set menus at lunchtimes. The surrounding countryside, dotted with other typical local restaurants, remains largely unaffected by tourism and you could be forgiven for feeling you have taken a step back in time as you drive, cycle or even stroll around the country lanes exploring the many sleepy villages and hamlets.
Maid service six days per week. The main pool can be heated (minimum three days notice to be fully effective) at a cost of €200 per week paid directly to the house owners. The main pool can be fenced on request (no extra charge if requested at time of booking). The owners of Casa das Pedras respectfully request that guests do not smoke inside the house.
