If we were to score a property on its location, this would undoubtedly receive full marks. At virtually the most southerly point of the dramatic, unspoilt Galician coastline, Punta Bazar occupies a stunning and enviable position just above the waterfront. With only a gently sloping bank of grassland and shrubs separating it from the picturesque, rocky shoreline and the nearest neighbours only just visible in the distance, this is an idyllic spot from which to admire the rugged beauty for which this corner of Spain is so renowned

Understandably proud of their coastal retreat, the owners have clearly devoted much time and attention to creating a home that is smart, comfortable and immaculately kept.  Within enclosed grounds that are private and sheltered, well stocked flowerbeds border the manicured lawns that encircle the house, at the back of which a covered dining area, basketball court and swimming pool are perfectly positioned to enjoy the wonderful sea views that spread out ahead.

From the poolside terrace, steps lead up to a covered veranda, from where the house is entered. With a cheerful décor of softly coloured hues, attractive furnishings and up-to-date fittings, this is a welcoming environment, made light and bright by wide picture windows and patio doors that frame the stunning ocean vistas.

Known locally as the '‘lobster capital'’ thanks to the excellent quality of its seafood, the fishing town of A Guarda is just 3.6km from Punta Bazar and boasts not only some excellent restaurants but also the fine sandy beach of Area Grande. From here, a short ferry crossing over the Río Minho takes you across the border to the pretty Portuguese town of Caminha.  Alternatively, you may wish to follow the coast road north of the house, where the chic seaside resort of Baiona is just 30 minutes away.
