Villa Description

Ca Na Xidoia (pronounced she-doy-yah) is that rarest of finds; a property for two people in an excellent location offering a wealth of original character and interior detail plus the comfort of modern conveniences.

Guests at this cosy hideaway will surely enjoy the best of both worlds – a predominantly countryside situation which is, at the same time, within 1.5km of two beaches as well as the amenities, bars and excellent restaurants found inside and around the impressive Roman walls of Old Alcúdia.

Greeting you on arrival, the pretty grounds and shaded front terrace are an inviting introduction to the restful, rustic ambience reflected throughout the house interior. The ground floor, open-plan in design, has a sense of spaciousness that belies the property’s capacity whilst the beamed ceilings, terracotta floor tiling and exposed stone walls (decorated with an eclectic selection of rural memorabilia) all create a striking impression.

A sitting area sits to one side, dining area on the other with Xidoia’s original wood-burning stove an interesting focal point between the two. The kitchen is conveniently adjacent to the dining area and a bathroom completes the downstairs accommodation. An open tread staircase rises to the galleried sleeping area, where a double bed sits beneath the sloping eaves. Furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout have been carefully chosen to reflect and remain faithful to the property’s rustic origins.

Encircling the house is a large enclosed garden, home to a fine private swimming pool surrounded by lawn and an interesting selection of mature shrubs, fig, olive, palm and almond trees. As there are good amenities within striking distance this would be an excellent choice of property for those not wishing to rely on a car for the whole duration of their holiday.

Please note: As the open tread staircase leading to the galleried bedroom is quite steep this property would not be ideal for young children, elderly travellers or anyone unsteady on their feet.
