Dating back to the 19th century, the fine stone tower that now forms such an eye catching and majestic feature provides guests with the opportunity to experience part of Spain’s history in what was originally an important watchtower to defend the town. Over the years, as its purpose changed and additional wings were added, it was extended and refurbished to provide the stylish accommodation available today.
With high vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and elegant archways forming the perfect backdrop for beautifully coordinated furnishings, and the recent restoration subtly combining the most up-to-date of fittings and appliances, this is a spacious house that exudes comfort and quality. The ground floor of the tower is now home to a sitting room where cosy areas of soft seating create a smart and welcoming ambience. The well-proportioned bedrooms are all equipped with en suite facilities and air conditioning, with the principal room displaying a charming four-poster bed, tastefully upholstered furniture and a delightful covered balcony, framed by arches and decorated with ornate tiles.
This attractive balcony looks down onto the enclosed garden where a wide lawn spreads either side of the swimming pool and its adjacent terrace. Tall palm trees stand proudly and cast welcome areas of shade, bougainvillea trails colourfully around window frames and to one side a covered terrace offers a comfortable area of soft seating.
With the quintessential white village of Vejer de la Frontera being so close to hand, the typical shops, bars and restaurants that are housed within these beguiling narrow streets and the town’s ornate Plaza de España are likely to become a regular haunt for residents of El Torero. For days out on the beach, the lovely golden sands of El Palmar are just a 10 minute drive away whilst a short distance up the coast from here is the pretty seaside town of Conil de la Frontera.
Maid service is daily. The housekeepers live in a separate house behind El Torero. They will not use the garden and pool and your privacy is respected.
