From the elegant riverside town of Caminha, a country road meanders through a scenic landscape of maize fields and vineyards and leads the way to this smart home, which sits within a spacious lawned garden in a small hamlet just 2.5km from the town itself.

Recently refurbished, Casa de Campo provides charming accommodation, an attractive garden of lawns and vine covered terraces and a picturesque outlook across the lush, wooded countryside that spreads out ahead towards the border with Spain.

Perfectly arranged to take full advantage of these enticing views, the accommodation occupies the first and second floors of the property.  On entering, it is the beautifully presented living/dining room into which you are welcomed, where elegant wood furniture and fashionable leather seating sit upon a gleaming floor of terracotta tiles, made homely and welcoming by the provision of stylish rugs.  Upstairs on the second floor, a pleasing sense of space prevails in the amply proportioned rooms, with character being added by sloping ceilings.

The combination of wide lawns, vine and pergola covered terraces that surround the house and pool make this area ideal for outdoor living. In the distance, the rounded hilltop of Santa Tecla in Spain signals the proximity of this neighbouring country, which can be reached by way of a short ferry crossing from Caminha.

All amenities and a pleasing selection of restaurants can be found within the ornate streets and buildings of Caminha, just a 5 minute drive away along the nearby road. Closer to hand a local café/bar is a short walk from the house within the hamlet, whilst for visits to the coast, long stretches of golden dune-backed beach can be reached by way of a 5 minute drive from Caminha.
