The singular touches of its artist owner are much in evidence at Ca Na Catalina, a very distinctive and individual residence tucked away in a peaceful country location yet at the same time only 2.6km from the rich history, atmosphere and wonderful facilities of Pollença town. This eye-catching property is a perfect holiday base for two people who will find a fine selection of first class facilities to enjoy, both inside and out, together with a vast amount of space in which to relax (much more space than might normally be associated with a house of this capacity).
Predominantly open plan in design, the living accommodation flows easily across one level. Plump sofas and a good size dining table adorn the sitting/dining room which is distinguished by various characterful features and subtle decorative touches.
Large sliding doors allow an abundance of natural light to flood in, a wood-burning stove sits to one side and a substantial indoor barbecue grill nearby - somewhat idiosyncratically used by Catalina, the property owner, as a display area for family memorabilia! The walls and surfaces around the room host several examples of artwork by the celebrated painter Juan Antonio Bofill and two carefully positioned air conditioning units provide the option to vary the temperature of the house interior as you require.
Along one edge of the sitting room sliding louvre doors designate the bedroom area which, as you would expect, is comfortably appointed and features an en suite shower room with dressing area from where doors lead out on either side to both the front and rear terraces.
The private pool is also much larger than average and bordered by an equally impressive sun terrace as well as an attractive lawned garden of mature Mediterranean shrubbery. Unusually for a smaller house and a very welcome addition to the facilities, the option of a private, all-weather tennis court offers a temptingly sporting diversion.
Golf, sandy beaches, cycle routes, walking trails, wine-tasting and bird watching are just a few of the activities that can be enjoyed in the surrounding area.
The vibrant, culturally rich town of Pollença is home to a weekly market, a good choice of boutiques and shops (the nearest supermarket is only 2km away), as well as a range of respected restaurants offering a wide cross-section of local and international cuisine.
Air conditioning (if required) is paid locally. As a courtesy to guests we mention that the property owner lives elsewhere in the grounds, well away from Ca Na Catalina. With the exception of the gated entrance to the grounds themselves she does not use any of the house facilities and your privacy is completely assured.
