The combination of glorious views over the Umbrian countryside, a tasteful interior behind a beautiful stone façade and, unique to our Italian portfolio, two pools, one of which is indoor, means Casale Laura is a welcome addition to our programme. Situated close to the hamlet of Casalalta in the hills behind Deruta, it is a fine example of an Umbrian villa which combines the elements of the past with the modern world ensuring a relaxing holiday for everyone.
Outside, two impressive olive trees stand to attention either side of the house and draw your eye to the landscape beyond.
This lovely view can be appreciated from the first floor balcony as well as from the wide spacious sun terrace which leads off the ground floor. From here, steps lead down to the outdoor pool area, where the large pool is attractively edged with paving and lawn.
For those who enjoy taking a dip, an added bonus is the indoor pool situated on the lower ground floor of Casale Laura. This floor has been dedicated to both fitness and relaxation, with gym equipment in one corner and sun loungers by the pretty mosaic tiled pool. Large glass windows slide open allowing light to flood in.
Internally, the house is airy and spacious. White painted furniture, wrought iron pieces and antique wood items blend together well, with pretty fabrics and rugs adding touches of colour.
From Casale Laura, it is a 15 minute drive into Deruta, where you will find all amenities, along with plenty of shops selling the colourful majolica ceramics for which the town is famous. Close by are smaller hilltop towns, all charming in their own right.
Perugia (28km) is the capital city of Umbria and home to countless historic buildings, elegant shops and restaurants and in July, host to the world renowned jazz festival. For those seeking more active pursuits, the Monte Subasio park abounds with walking possibilities whilst a 30 minute drive brings you to Lake Trasimeno where there are plenty of water sport activities on offer during the summer.
The indoor pool can be heated in April and October (payable locally). Air Conditioning and Central Heating are payable locally. We respectfully request that you do not allow children to use the gym facilities without appropriate adult supervision.
