Inviting and very stylish, this beautiful property sits in a lovely rural position close to the town of São Bras de Alportel commanding far-reaching views across open countryside from its privileged hillside position. Amongst a wealth of charming, characterful features, offered by the house surely the most impressive is the exceedingly spacious, thoughtfully landscaped grounds which border the shaded terraces and enticing private swimming pool. Italianate in design, perfumed by lavender and featuring a vast array of indigenous shrubs, plants, trees, lawns, statues, rockeries and sculpted hedgerows, the garden at Alto do Botelho is not only a haven of tranquility but a delight for any horticulturalist.

Renowned as a centre of cork production, São Bras (3km) is home to all amenities including a large supermarket and several interesting local restaurants. Estoi (10km) has further facilities, famous Roman ruins and a ‘posada’ with a restaurant. Gateway to the magnificent sandy beaches of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Faro (15km) is the vibrant regional capital while the countless churches, beautiful gardens, squares and narrow cobbled streets of Tavira as a well as the Moorish castle at Silves also merit exploration.
The tiered garden means younger children would need supervision. The owners of Alto do Botelho respectfully request that guests do not smoke inside the house.
