The word ‘unique’ can be over-used however there is, in this case, no more appropriate way to describe To Throni. Maria, the owner, is an extremely talented interior designer having overseen many of the most strikingly beautiful house interiors found on the island. Maria has now used her exquisite taste and enviable eye for detail to magnificent effect in dreaming up this sophisticated and stylish property.
No less chic than the living area, the ground floor twin bedroom incorporates a tasteful en suite shower room and opens directly to the pool terrace. At the top of the deconstructed staircase, the charming double bedroom is also en suite with a private balcony and vaulted wooden ceiling helping to keep the room fresh and cool. Prominently positioned to take full advantage of the eye-catching scenery, the private pool features a whimsical reclining statue at one end. An impressive, centuries-old olive tree at the other gives generous shade in the summer haze. Sunloungers and outdoor dining areas promise endless days spent in the sun. Dating back to Venetian times, the hamlet of Tselendata enjoys an idyllic setting perched on a lush hillside just 2km above Fiscardo with rows of olive trees tumbling down to the cobalt sea and dazzling views across the narrow channel to Ithaca. An unmade track leads down to Foki Beach (1.6km) where there is a simple taverna with an adjacent olive grove providing lots of natural shade and do seek out the beaches of St Jerusalem plus the small but very beautiful Alaties which are both 5km. Encircled by pastel-coloured façades housing lively open air restaurants, bars and coffee shops, Fiscardo’s bustling port attracts an affluent, international yachting community in contrast to laid back Maganos (3.5km) which is a sleepy, quintessentially Greek village with two local tavernas and mini-markets. Due to the wooded environs barbecues are not permitted. Booking & Availability: Select a Month (right) to view Availability and click price to Book Online: |
