Olivia Lourdas Beach 3 Bedrooms | 3 Bathrooms | Air Conditioning | Beach 600m | Taverna 600m | Wi-Fi | Village House | Sleeps 6
Olivia Lourdas beach is based in a pretty village with everything for a great stay: a fabulous beach, a traditional village square and beachside tavernas. One of those 'hidden gems' and a favourite of ours - Lourdas has everything close to hand including mini-markets for essentials, various pleasant cafes/bars and friendly tavernas, whilst the villa set above the beach 600m away has wonderful sea views.
The living/dining area is modern, bright and inviting with patio doors opening on to the pool terrace, making al fresco lunches around the pool a very popular pastime and the kitchen is compact and well equipped. The fabulous curve of Lourdas bay (600m) stretching out towards the wooded hills and Trapezaki Valley is easy on the eye and can be easily reached by several footpaths leading down to the beach. The twin bedroom on the ground floor enjoys those same wonderful views from its windows and balcony while, upstairs, you will find a further twin bedroom with en suite shower room and a principal double bedroom with en suite bathroom and balcony (perfectly positioned for a sundowner at sunset!). Lourdas is split into three main areas, the top leads off the coastal road with traditional houses clustered around the meandering road, then the traditional square of Lourdas is in the middle; a pretty oasis of calm and cool with pine trees lending shade surrounded by shops and traditional tavernas. The final part ends with the splendid beach at the bottom and beachfront tavernas and Olivia is situated both in the village and close to the beach making it ideal for families who do not want to rely on a car. There are further shops, restaurants and tavernas to discover in the nearby villages of Trapezaki and Sparta while the Sisson monastery, named after St Francis of Asissi and dating from the thirteenth century, is also worth a visit. Exploring the interior and the seemingly endless stream of pretty villages around Livathos is a further delight ...if you can tear yourself away from that pool terrace of course.
