Splashes of colour from original artworks adorn the walls and various organic decorations and sculptures, complement the tasteful cream décor. Leading out to the pool terrace, two sets of sliding glass doors allow light to stream in with separate shutters that can be drawn for cosiness in the evening or during particularly hot days.
An inviting atmosphere also emanates from both the well equipped kitchen and covered summer kitchen directly alongside; the latter an impressive outside space that feels like a completely natural extension of the inside. The billiard table here is sure to entertain both young and old alike.
Fully enclosed and gated, the grounds enjoy excellent privacy and seclusion. Extensive open and covered terraces provide plenty of space for leisurely lunches together with a wealth of relaxation spaces in which the party can spread out. Fringed by flower beds, lawn and mature palm trees, the private pool lies within an attractive, walled terrace that extends around the house to create an inviting, sheltered sun-trap. Finally, there are wide-reaching views across the surrounding orange groves to be enjoyed from the first floor terrace.
While Laranjeiras feels wonderfully ‘away from it all’ the village of Porches, renowned for its traditional ceramics and offering a small but varied choice of restaurants is just 1.5km and Lagoa (5km) is home to good shops and supermarkets. A short drive will take you to both the comprehensive amenities of popular Carvoeiro and several excellent golden sandy beaches including lovely Praia de Benagil (8km) and the famously photogenic Praia da Marinha (7km) with its distinctive banded sandstone cliffs.
Local attractions include vineyard tours around Lagoa, the famous chapel at sleepy Alcantarilha (9km) and Silves Castle (10.5km), one of several buildings standing as proud testament to the region's Moorish past.
