It is easy to see why the well kept properties on the hillside encircling Cala Rata are so sought after by islanders since this exclusive collection of houses looks out across the most captivating and picturesque of panoramas, whilst being only 2km from the charming capital itself.

The wide picture windows, patio doors and terrace that line Villa Tarro’s first floor living room face east to encompass a scenic vista of calm waters, with beautifully unspoilt countryside stretching out beyond. To the side, yachts, ferries and colourful fishing boats can be seen as they make their way in and out of the harbour.

An equally impressive outlook is enjoyed by the swimming pool and its surrounding wood decked terrace, whilst inside the nautical theme continues throughout attractive and up-to-date accommodation, with pictures and artefacts depicting the owner’s former seafaring days and adding character to rooms that are fresh, bright and stylishly furnished.

A five minute journey by either water taxi or car reveals the colourful harbour front of Maó, lined with cheerfully painted houses and lively restaurant terraces that rise in a maze of atmospheric streets to the city’s old centre.
