Thalassa Vista’s privileged location makes it perfect for those looking for less reliance on a car as it enjoys excellent close proximity to the charming capital and beach, yet is set within quiet environs, and privately enclosed by ivy clad whitewashed walls. Elevated above the red rooftops of Skopelos Town, this handsome house lies only 500m from the port and another 150m to the town beach.

Graceful lines of this stunning neoclassical house make it unique within the traditional Skopiot architecture, a gentle curve of the main façade and a stylish front door echoing the Art Deco style. Even more unusual is the private swimming pool and spacious terrace around which the garden’s pink and white oleander trees lend their heady perfume in the balmy evening air, as the stars come out and the after dinner drinks and chatter linger on. A splendid balcony offers panoramic views of the harbour and the mesmerising sunsets as they disappear into the shimmering horizon.

Thalassa Vista exudes style and elegance as one of the most comfortable, delightful and welcoming properties we have the pleasure to present. Inside, the high ceilings of the attractive open plan living/dining and kitchen areas keep it cool in the heat of the day. Subtle classical décor that includes leather sofas, bamboo blinds and a delicate chandelier add a colonial touch. The shaded, leafy patio is perfect for al fresco breakfasts or a peaceful retreat for idle afternoons.

Neatly designed and with an attractive country appeal, the galley kitchen is tucked between the main living area and a second reception room. A ground floor double bedroom overlooks the pool terrace. Open steps lead up to a mezzanine style double bedroom under the eaves, a leafy canopy glimpsed from the windows and a wooden beamed ceiling adding a cosy inviting air. Accessed by a separate staircase, the master double bedroom is on the first floor, adjacent to a third sitting area offering a balcony with superb harbour views. The same vaulted ceilings add a fin de siècle mood complementing the traditional, restful theme.

Stroll through quaint cobbled streets to the harbour front (500m), where bakeries serve fresh croissants or Skopiot cheese pies, wonderful for breakfast. Evenings have a laid back ambience; narrow lanes are lined with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants. Plenty of beaches, hidden coves and bays are simply waiting to be discovered, 10 minutes’ walk from the villa, daily buses gather in the port to encircle the island. Glysteri (4km) and Glifoneri beaches are the nearest, hugging the eastern coastline, whilst over to the west, Prince Stafylos is a popular family beach, along with Agnondas, Kastani, Milia.
 TRANSFERS: Villa rental includes private return taxi from Skiathos airport to the ferry port and ferry crossing to/from Skopelos.
