Flanked by farmland and exquisite countryside, this attractive property enjoys a rural location on a typically sedate country lane with easy access to amenities in nearby villages and just 8km away from atmospheric Najac. Fully restored from a ruined farmhouse, Le Puech de Canabral has been meticulously renovated to its former glory as a traditional stone house of great character with a distinctly cosy feel. 
Private off-road parking to the side of the property leads via granite steps straight into the first floor where attractive walls of exposed stone and chunky wooden beams immediately demonstrate the great effort made by the owner to retain as many original features as possible. Creating an attractive focal point in the living room, an ornate stone fireplace surrounds the wood burning stove where the bread oven of the farmhouse once stood. Various nooks, crannies and an original hand basin blend seamlessly into the surrounding stonework with chestnut coloured floor tiles further accentuating the clever and judicious use of reclaimed materials. Upstairs, the décor is equally appealing with pastel colours and wooden flooring complementing the intricate array of exposed beams in the eaves. Ingeniously carved into the rock and with two of its three beds designed cabin-style, the ground floor triple bedroom is sure to be of particular appeal to families with younger children. Standing in the small courtyard to the front of the house, one can truly admire the position of the buidling standing majestically upon a granite outcrop. Extending beneath the rock into an outbuilding opposite (a shady retreat from the summer heat) the original water well has also been retained and the elevated sun terrace bordering the swimming pool provides yet another wonderful spot from which to survey the impressive swathe of pastoral scenery that surrounds the property. A bakery, a post office and a small supermarket can be found in La Fouillade (4km). Najac (8km), dominated by its 13th Century Chateau, is an enchanting place where timber-framed houses scatter downwards from the hilltop fortress in an array of narrow streets. A stroll around the village is highly recommended to best appreciate the wonderful panoramas and architecture and there are a number of small shops and restaurants to choose from, no less than two of which currently retain Michelin stars. Larger supermarkets, and a variety of restaurants and bars are on offer in the delightful market town of Villefranche de Rouergue (22km).
