A 30 minute drive inland from the coastal beauty spots of Llafranc, Tamariu and Aigua Blava takes us to Les Oliveres, a delightful, character property that sits on the edge of the pretty stone village of Rupiá, just a short walk from the main central square and the medieval church of Sant Vicenç.

Once a working farmhouse, Les Oliveres is now a welcoming and comfortable abode that displays many of its original architectural features.  Vaulted ceilings, exposed stonework and pieces of period rustic furniture all combine to create an interior of restful cosiness and real charm.  The open plan living/dining area, commodious and authentic, boasts a magnificent terracotta brick archway that runs across the centre of the room whilst the fully equipped farmhouse kitchen is segregated from the dining area by a gently curved ingress decorated with an antique polished wooden yoke.

Families with small children will appreciate the spacious, sunny, enclosed courtyard with its ample poolside dining pergola whilst those seeking some peace can relax under the shade of the two delightful olive trees that grow in the lawned area to the side of the house.

Rupiá (200m) is home to a bakery, butchers, grocery store and a bar/restaurant where locals and visitors alike congregate around its open air terrace during the balmy summer evenings. The pottery town of La Bisbal (6.7km) has an excellent choice of amenities and a bustling Friday market whilst the provincial capital of Girona is only a 25 minute drive away.

Les Oliveres is undoubtedly an excellent choice for those who wish to enjoy a holiday that combines the pleasures of picnics on the beach and country walks amidst fields of sunflowers with the added advantage of being able to wander into the village in the evening and be part of Catalan country life.
