When the owners of one of our most popular and welcoming properties decided to take on a new restoration project, we eagerly waited to see the end result, as we knew it would be worth including in our portfolio. And on our inspection, we were not disappointed. La Vallée is a beautiful house, renovated to a high standard, in a location which is hard to rival. When first invited to view Casa del Molino, we could not anticipate the near perfect setting which awaited us: from the entrance gate, a sloping driveway through landscaped grounds led to an imposing granite house with its own large swimming pool set in the centre of a spacious lawned garden. As we stepped through to that garden, however, the panorama which revealed itself was literally breathtaking.

Idyllic beaches of fine golden sand fringe the shoreline of the sheltered waters of one of Galicia's most picturesque rías and meandering lanes wind their way down to the waterfront through vineyards and meadows. This is the delightful scene that surrounded us as we viewed Os Padrons, a smart coastal home that sits at the end of a small group of houses, overlooking a pretty rural meadow through which we walked just 100m to reach the sheltered sandy beach of Pintens.

Those who possess property in Monte Lourido are usually the envy of the local people of Galicia and it is easy to see why. This area of stylish homes occupies a prestigious position on the slopes of a small hill, just at the end of the long sweep of golden sands that is Playa América. Surrounded on almost all sides by water and occupying elevated terrain, the sea views from here are superb whilst the beach, its adjacent cafés, restaurants and water sport facilities are all within walking distance.
