{"id":1395,"date":"2010-12-01T02:19:28","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T02:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vintageholidays.co.uk\/?p=1395"},"modified":"2010-12-01T02:19:28","modified_gmt":"2010-12-01T02:19:28","slug":"caveaux-de-noel-frances-christmas-wine-cellars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/caveaux-de-noel-frances-christmas-wine-cellars\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cCaveaux de Noel\u201d \u2013 France\u2019s Christmas Wine Cellars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A programme of events dedicated to the tradition of Christmas and New Year in the south western corner of France, with a particular emphasis on wine, is to be held in the wine cellars in the town of Beziers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1396\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1396\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Caveaux-De-Noel1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1396\" title=\"Caveaux-De-Noel\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Caveaux-De-Noel1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1396\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Caveaux De Noel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Until 2 January next year, the Beziers Mediterranean Tourist Office is putting on a series of activities, known as \u201cCaveaux de Noel\u201d \u2013 \u201cChristmas Wine Cellars\u201d, based around five main themes including, Christmas workshops, gourmet delights, Christmas traditions, meet the artists and fill up your baskets.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Like most regions of France, wine is taken extremely seriously in the Languedoc-Roussilan province, especially in the town of Beziers, where, with its rich and high-quality soil, producing wine is one of the city\u2019s bastions of passion, culture and economy.\u00a0 Considering Beziers is the wine capital of Languedoc, it is appropriate such \u2018wine-orientated\u2019 events are held the town\u2019s many charming and atmospheric wine cellars, including Le Chameau Ivre cellar, which boasts 3,500 varieties of wine, most of which are produced locally with a minority integrating a Spanish influence. The Beziers-Boujon and the Closed Holy Martin are two of the most high-class wine farms in the world, producing Muscatels, Merlots, Chardonnay-Sauvignons of immaculate quality and taste.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the festive season, from Beziers\u2019 world-renowned and grand wine farms to its quirkier, dusty and more \u2018underground\u2019 wine cellars, the town welcomes visitors with open arms to embrace two of societies more pleasurable of activities \u2013 celebrating Christmas and sipping wine.
