It\u2019s sleepy, untouched and an enchanting environment if you are looking for relaxation.<\/p>\n<p>You get to Gozo by flying into Malta and then getting the ferry (takes around half an hour) to Gozo.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve been there a couple of times (team here at Vintage) and wanted to share with you our top 8 things to do and see on Gozo (in no particular order).<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Visit The Azure Window<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This is a rock formation situated near Dwejra Lake that is named after the colour of the sea around it. It\u2019s worth a climb to the top but be very careful, the long ledge of rock that forms the upper edge of the &#8216;window&#8217; is in danger of collapsing! If you do make it to the top you\u2019ll not be disappointed by the views.You can always hop in a boat and travel through it if heights are not your thing.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_265\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-265\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-265\" title=\"Azure Window\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/azure_window.jpg\" alt=\"The Azure Window\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-265\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Azure Window<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Take lunch in Marsalforn<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Lunch in Gozo is one of those pastimes to savour and take your time over. Find a seat that overlooks the Marsalforn harbour at one of the number of restaurants there and take in the sun, sights, seafood and delicious smells. Local delicacies are mainly fish based&#8230; and are stunning!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_266\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-266\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-266\" title=\"Marsalforn_bay\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Marsalforn_bay.jpg\" alt=\"Marsalforn Bay\" width=\"400\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Marsalforn_bay.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Marsalforn_bay-375x165.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-266\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marsalforn Bay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The Church of Ta&#8217;Pinu<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ta&#8217;Pinu is a relatively modern church (built 1920-31), however there has been a chapel situated in this spot since the 16<sup>th<\/sup> Century. \u00a0Apparently, in the last century a local woman claimed to have heard a voice in the church and it gradually gained a reputation for miracles, so much so that a bigger church was built around the original.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to check out the white marble cross leading up from the outside of the church.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_267\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-267\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-267\" title=\"Church of Ta'Pinu\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Church-of-TaPinu.jpg\" alt=\"The Church Of Ta'Pinu\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-267\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Church Of Ta&#39;Pinu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Xerri&#8217;s Grotto &#8211; Natural Cave<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Caves are common in this area of the Med, but this one is quite spectacular. Whilst it may be small it is rich with natural speleothems or stalactite and stalagmite formations and was discovered in 1942 by the owners&#8217; grandfather while he was digging a well. During WWII it was used as a shelter.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_268\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-268\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-268\" title=\"Xerri's Grotto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Xerris-Grotto.jpg\" alt=\"Xerri's Grotto\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-268\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Xerri&#39;s Grotto<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The Salt Pans<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>These salts pans are situated near to Marsalforn and are well worth seeing we feel. You\u2019ll catch some lovely views along the coast and learn a little history about the salt pans, which date back to 1740.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_269\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-269\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-269\" title=\"Salt Pans\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Salt-Pans.jpg\" alt=\"Salt Pans\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-269\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Salt Pans<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Boat trip around Comino<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Comino is the baby brother of the three Maltese islands and is inhabited by just 4 people! This isn\u2019t to say that it isn\u2019t worth joining a boat tour around the island, which stops along the way for swimming.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll end up cruising along the coast, exploring the cliffs, &#8216;windows&#8217;, holes, corals, caves and visiting the famous Blue Lagoon.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_270\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-270\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-270\" title=\"comino\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/comino.jpg\" alt=\"Relaxing Boat Trip Around Comino\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-270\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Relaxing Boat Trip Around Comino<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The Ggantija Temples<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Ggantija Temples are said to be the oldest free-standing structures in the world. They are certainly among the best-preserved temples on the Maltese Islands. The two Neolithic temples here date from the third millennium B.C (3600 to 3000 B.C.).
