Northern Lazio, particularly around Viterbo, is blessed with copious amounts of outdoor thermal pools, a popular place for couples, families and locals to relax and be nurtured by the water’s therapeutic qualities.

Possibly the best of a quality bunch is the II Bagnaccio spring, six kilometres to the North of Viterbo, where you will find several pools that have been carved out of white clay in a pastoral landscape that has remained practically unaltered since Etruscan times.

La Riserva Naturale Monte Rufeno

Talking about ‘wildness’, if it is a touch of untamed, completely natural and remote beauty you are yearning, then spending a day at the Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve, will more than satisfy your desires.
