Although challenging the seemingly common accord that all visitors of Rome are individuals with a consuming or excessive interest in culture and the arts, is the fact that this electrifying city is bursting with things to do for the sportier types. Below are three sporting activities in Rome.<\/p>\n

Golf<\/strong><\/p>\n

When one thinks of a golfing holiday, the likes of the Algarve and the south of France instantly enter the mind. Golf in Rome however, is a popular activity with many exclusive golf courses dotted around the city and its immediate vicinity, offering guests the chance to practise their swing in the most culturally-inspiring of surroundings.<\/p>\n

One of Rome\u2019s best golf courses is the Circolo del Golf Roma Acquasanta, a quality golf course with great facilities located in a stunning rural landscape, close o the Appia Antica.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cycling<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whilst London might be relatively late in implementing cycle lanes and other bicycle facilities to encourage cycling in the city, the same cannot be said about Rome. With the benefits of traffic restrictions in the historical regions of the city, means that cyclists can wheel around effortlessly without the worry of that there\u2019s a five-mile tailback over their shoulder!<\/p>\n

Rome\u2019s successful bike-sharing scheme has resulted in cycling being a popular activity and way of getting around Rome. One of the city\u2019s most popular cycling routes is along the old Roman road, known as the Via Appia Antica. Another popular route is along the Tiber path, which takes cyclists from Castel Giubileo to the Mezzo Cammino.<\/p>\n

Swimming<\/strong><\/p>\n

The temperature can get pretty hot in Rome, particularly during the summer months. In fact, this engrossing city often enjoys sunny and mild weather in the autumn and in the spring. One consequence of its warm climate is that there are several open-air swimming pools in the city.<\/p>\n

La Piscina delle Rose, for example, is Rome\u2019s largest open-air pool and proves to be extremely popular during the summer. Another exclusive spot for some swimming in the city is on the rooftops of the Radison SAS, where guests and none guests can swim at the leisure whilst watching the activities of Rome unravel below.<\/p>\n
