Named after its beautiful pink rock formations, which line the shoreline and glow warmly as the sun goes down in the western sky, the rose granite coast of Brittany never fails to attract a constant trickle of tourists.<\/p>\n

\"Cote<\/a><\/p>\n

This rare rock can only be found elsewhere in China and Corsica. The rocks take the form of wondrous sculptures, which naturally attract photographers like magnets, clicking away in search of the perfect picture in the perfect light.<\/p>\n

One of the best rock formations of this 30 kilometres stretch can be found along the coastal path that linke Perros-Guirec to the port of Ploumanac\u2019h. Some of the rock formations here are more than 20 metres high and are resonant of many unusual items, including Napoleon\u2019s hat, a rabbit, a witch and more. The weathering process that created these sculptures did not happen overnight and it is probable that the rabbit and the witch have been well known for hundreds of years. Napoleon\u2019s hat is obviously a more recent addition.<\/p>\n

The round trip along the coastal path takes about two hours to walk and is a truly unique and memorable walk, particularly during sunset when the colour of the rock takes on different tones.<\/p>\n

With three great beaches Perros-Guirec is a popular and family-friendly resort which is heavily visited by the French in high season.<\/p>\n

The Pink Granite coast is a real eye opener for any tourist. While many European resorts effectively close up at the end of the summer season and therefore visits are confined to peak times, it is during the autumn or even winter when the watery sun is low in the sky and the violent sea foams over the beautiful pink granite, which could possibly be the best time to visit one of Brittany\u2019s most unique treasures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
