Being set in the heart of this rural bliss the property&#8217;s private pool is ever so inviting, the perfect place to make slow swimming stroke through silent ripples of water as the setting sun casts an orange glow on the surrounding hills and trees.<\/p>\n<p>For those familiar with the James Bond film \u201cA quantum of solace\u201d you may remember the nail-biting opening scene of the film, which was set in Sienna. As Bond was busy fighting a villain, a horse race was going, which augmented the pace and chaotic excitement of the scene. The race is known as the Palio and it is run twice a year, in July and August, through Siena&#8217;s streets. It is a tradition which dates back to medieval times and never fails to attract crowds of eager spectators. The three minute race is televised and given its fierce competition and the thunderous sounds of galloping hooves, it is not difficult to understand why the Palio was replicated in a Bond scene.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPalio di Siena\u201d is just another reason why visiting the stunning city of Siena should definitely be on the more cultured of traveller&#8217;s agenda.
