If you’re seeking sun, sand, history, great cuisine and culture this summer, then visiting Mallorca’s Pollenca will certainly fulfil such aspirations. What has been referred to as Mallorca’s \u201cjewel of the North\u201d, Pollenca was established by the Catalans in the 13th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

Most of Pollenca’s existing old houses were built during the 17th<\/sup> and 18th<\/sup> centuries, but the narrow streets are a throwback to medieval times. Several kilometres from the town lie the remains of the old Roman settlement of ‘Pollentia’, from which the name Pollenca derives.<\/p>\n

So beautiful and culturally-inspiring is area of Mallorca that several famous writers have stayed at the Port of Pollenca. These authors include Agatha Christie, who wrote \u201cProblem at Pollensa Bay\u201d when she stayed in the pine walk area of the town. With three twin bedrooms and a double master bedroom with a dressing room and en-suite facilities, Ca’n Suau sleeps eight people in modern luxury. The kitchen and dining area lead through to the lounge, its open-plan design making the interior look\u00a0 huge.<\/p>\n

Outside, a covered terrace runs down the full length of the house on both sides. With a shaded terrace this large, equipped with a barbecue, dining al fresco is an absolute must in high season at Ca’n Suau. For anyone wanting to soak up some rays, a sun terrace made of lovely golden stone sits\u00a0 besides the inviting swimming pool. The villa’s velvet lawns roll seamlessly into the adjacent open countryside, making it difficult to see where the garden’s boundaries end.<\/p>\n

Ca’n Suau is only a few minutes drive away from the golden beaches and quality restaurants of the Port of Pollenca. The Northern-most tip of Mallorca is known as Cap de Formentor and is a\u00a0 spectacular place to visit.
