<\/a><\/p>\nThis four bedroom, five bathroom luxury family villa near Faro\u00a0is perched above the quaint village of Sao Romao, not far from the larger town of Sao Bras de Alportel in the sunny Algarve.<\/p>\n
More commonly known as simply Sao Bras, this unpretentious town is rested on an escarpment looking down towards the Algarve coast. Centred round an old church, the Episcopal Palace and an atmospheric town square, Sao Bras is the perfect situ to become acquainted with traditional Algarvan life.<\/p>\n
Renovated to a high standard from the ruins of an old farmstead, Casa Idalina is certainly \u2018at one\u2019 with this seemingly ageless corner of Portugal.<\/p>\n
With beamed ceilings and constructed using local materials and methods, including cane, an aura of bucolic rapture is woven throughout the whole of Idalina. Despite its rustic charm, spaciousness and a unique sense of style is at the core of this Algarve villa.<\/p>\n

The bedrooms are accessed via a door from the living room which also leads to Idalina\u2019s upper terrace. This perfectly-positioned terrace overlooks the property\u2019s fabulous private pool and the bucolic bliss that extends beyond it.<\/p>\n
Idalina\u2019s garden is a colourful network of vibrant bougainvillea, citrus, climbers, a characterful gnarled olive tree which delightfully contrasts to a handsome and pristine neighbouring carob-bean tree. The pool takes pride and place on the lower terrace. If needs be, which is unlikely in the high summer season, the pool can be heated for an ultra-luxurious swim.<\/p>\n
Dragging yourself from the charms and luxuries of Idalina might be testing but it would be worth it. Within walking distance \u2013 3 kilometres away \u2013 is the charming market town of Sao Bras de Alportel.\u00a0 If ancient Algarvan archaeology is what you seek, just 8 kilometres from the house lie the Roman ruins at Milreu in Estoi.<\/p>\n
Naturally, fantastic beaches are never far away on the Algarve and a short drive will put you in the heart of Algarve beach heaven at the exclusive resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.<\/p>\n
