From well-known photographers to enthusiastic amateurs, hundreds of photographers in and around Brittany are keen to get their work displayed at the prestigious annual People and Nature Photo Festival in La Gacilly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This popular exhibition is held in the open air, where large-format photographs line La Gacilly\u2019s quaint and cobbled streets.<\/p>\n

The People and Nature Photo Festival event was established in 2004 by the late Jacques Rocher, one of La Gacilly\u2019s most prominent figures. Rocher was president of the Yves Rocher Foundation, a sustainable development company, which preserves an ethos for creating a truly sustainable world and working towards a greener tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The primary purpose of the People and Nature Photo Festival is to raise environmental awareness and to get people to think about the future of the planet.<\/p>\n

The large and inspiring photos on display at the exhibition are either portraits or are focused on some element of nature and the planet.<\/p>\n

Many of the photographers are present at the event, speaking to visitors about the dangers facing the planet and the fragility of Mother Nature.<\/p>\n

La Gacilly is well-known for its inspiring arts and crafts scene. From incredibly talented puppet makers to potters creating unique pottery gifts, La Gacilly\u2019s pretty narrow streets are brimming with local artists and craftsmen.<\/p>\n

British artist Anne Smith is amongst the diverse range of artists that have flocked to this charming Breton town. Smith is the official painter of the French Navy. Her work can be seen at the Galerie du Chat Noir in La Gacilly.<\/p>\n

This inspiring cultural event, which is the largest outdoor photographic exhibition in France, is held in this stunning Breton village from June until September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
