With vast expanses of golden sand, broken intermittently by pretty secluded coves, the Algarve in southern Portugal is world-renowned for having some of the best beaches in Europe. If you\u2019re looking for a beach holiday this year then the sun-drenched Algarve, with some of the cleanest and most scenic beaches in southern Europe, is unlikely to disappoint.<\/p>\n

\"Praia<\/a><\/p>\n

While there is an abundance of beaches and coves to explore on this stunning stretch of coastline, we have compiled a list of four of the best beaches on the Algarve to experience the unique coastal beauty of this popular European holiday destination.<\/p>\n

Praia do Amado<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are a self-confessed surf enthusiast then Praia do Amado is the beach to head to. Unspoilt, natural and exhilaratingly windswept, Praia do Amado is known as one of the principle surfing beaches in western Algarve.<\/p>\n

Gale Beach<\/strong><\/p>\n

With interesting rock formations, a swathe of rock pools and some great restaurants within walking distance, the comparatively well-sheltered Gale Beach is a popular spot for families to lay down their towels for the day. Gale Beach is situated between Albuferia and Armacao de Pera. Gale Beach can however get busy during the high peak season.<\/p>\n

Praia do Vau<\/strong><\/p>\n

Praia do Vau is located on the western side of Portimao and is one of the most popular beaches to the west of the Algarve.<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a well-facilitated beach then Praia do Vau has an excellent range of facilities, including water sports, sun beds and a selection of bars and restaurants. With calm waters and great facilities, Praia do Vau is popular amongst families, but again, tends to get busy during the summer months, so make sure you get there early!<\/p>\n

Praia Da Marinha<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a quieter and crowd-free beach to relax on and explore on the Algarve then Praia Da Marinha would be a great choice.<\/p>\n

Praia Da Marinha is approximately half an hour\u2019s drive from Albufeira in the Lagos region. To locate this golden sand cove you\u2019ll need to walk down the side of a cliff along a stepped path. Whilst the walk isn\u2019t too challenging, carrying buggies and other large items wouldn\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n
