Often referred to as \u201cThe Marches\u201d, Le Marche in central Italy lies to the East of Umbria and Tuscany. This stunning region borders the Adriatic Sea on the East and the Sibillini Mountains on the West. This beautiful part of Italy comprises of diverse sprawl of medieval hilltop villages, jagged mountain peaks, deep river gorges and vast plains of fertile fields and meadows, not to mention delicious local food and wine.<\/p>\n

A day at Ascoli Piceno<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ascoli Piceno is the capital of Le Marche\u2019s most southerly province and is a superb city, brimming with wondrous squares, fantastic shops and incredible riverside walks.<\/p>\n

If you have any football fans within the family, a trip to Ascoli Piceno\u2019s magnificent football stadium, Stadio Del Duca, which is just a five-minute stroll from the city centre, will make a memorable day out.<\/p>\n

Cycling along the coast<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether you have teenagers that need to burn off some steam or toddlers who would enjoy an invigorating ride in a bike carrier, cycling along Le Marche\u2019s beautiful coast would make a great family day out.<\/p>\n

As the coastal path along Le Marche\u2019s coastline is predominantly flat, cycling is not too challenging. One of the best cycling paths stretches from Cupra to Grottamare and on to San Benedetto.<\/p>\n

Spend a day on the beach<\/strong><\/p>\n

No family holiday would be complete without spending a day or two at the beach and in Le Marche, an exhilarating coastline and many great beaches are at your disposal.<\/p>\n

With six kilometres of soft golden sand, known as the Riviere de Palme due to the 5,000 palm trees planted on the beach, the beach of San Benedetto del Tronto provides a great day at the seaside with the family.<\/p>\n

A day at the park<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le Marche is home to 15 national forests and 100 areas of protected flora in a total of three nature reserves.<\/p>\n

The National Park of the Sibillini Mountains is one of the largest nature reserves in Le Marche, which stretches across more than 40 kilometres of magnificent mountain peaks.<\/p>\n

A visit to any of these exceptionally attractive areas of natural beauty would ensure all the family has a memorable day.<\/p>\n

Visit the Roman remains at San Leo<\/strong><\/p>\n

The town of San Leo on the northern tip of Le Marche boasts incredible views of the sweeping countryside below. This ancient town is also home to Roman remains, including a fortress, which stands at the summit of a lofty cliff.<\/p>\n
