Discover the Chateau du Barroux<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Chateau du Barroux was built in the 12th<\/sup> century and is one of only several castles in Provence. The castle was set on fire during the Second World War by the Germans and it burned for ten consecutive days. Legend has it ghosts remain in the ruins, which provide a great place for children and adults to explore.<\/p>\n

The Paty Dam<\/strong><\/p>\n

Approximately two kilometres from Caromb in the Lauron Valley lies the Paty dam, a man-made lake that is a popular spot for fishermen. During the summer months this tranquil lake is a great spot for bathers to enjoy the translucent water and invigorating mountain air.<\/p>\n

Les Geraniums<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a spot of lunch in the vicinity of Caromb, why not head to Les Geraniums? This traditional rural restaurant is known for its quality cuisine and, as the Lonely Planet advises, its stunning views of the surrounding valley, so try and book a terrace table.<\/p>\n

Cycling<\/strong><\/p>\n

Being in the foothills of the Ventoux, cycling is a popular pastime in this region of France. Roads twist and turn, ascend and descend round hairpin bends, which for the mountain cyclist are perfect conditions for a truly exhilarating ride.<\/p>\n
