If you are going on holiday to southern Portugal to play tennis, golf, go cycling, running, or be involved with any type of sporting activity, the cooler climate of October can make sport on the Algarve even more enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A haven of wildlife<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For wildlife enthusiasts the autumn can be the perfect time to visit this part of Portugal. The beautiful and tranquil lagoons attract thousands of bird species, including White Storks, Greater Flamingos, Black-winged Stilts, Little Bitterns, Grey Plovers, Dunlins, amongst many, many more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cheaper flights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another plus point of visiting the Algarve out of season is that flights can often be cheaper. Many of the airlines that fly into Faro will put on cheaper deals for flights in the autumn months.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its more relaxed pace of life, there is still plenty to see and do on the Algarve during the autumn.
