Ibiza celebrations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ibiza is best known for its clubbing nightlife during the summer months and is often referred to as the party capital of Europe. At Christmas, there are plenty of events for the younger generations, especially on Boxing Day. The scene is loud and non-stop in the south-western beach areas.<\/p>\n

However, in stark contrast, a lot of the interior of the island upholds peaceful tranquillity where you\u2019ll find some traditional festive customs, such as the Christmas market at the Vara de Reybecomes, complete with street decorations.<\/p>\n

If you want a quieter Christmas, try Es Canar which is popular for families, with its sandy beach and shallow waters for bathing. Cala Llonga is another beautiful bay with pine covered hills to roam during the crisp December days.<\/p>\n

Menorca celebrations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hailed as \u2018the jewel of the Balearics\u2019, Menorca has several good Christmas markets where you can buy traditional crafts, jewellery and delicious local produce. Most of the markets take place in the mornings.<\/p>\n

The main Christmas celebrations on Menorca begin on Christmas Eve, locals celebrate with displays, nativity re-enactments and midnight Masses held in several prominent churches. Many bars and restaurants also put on Christmas Eve parties, with lavish meals, and plenty of entertainment.<\/p>\n

Christmas Day is generally a family affair as families gather together to celebrate over food and drink and to talk and catch up on all the news. Many of the bars and restaurants offer a Balearic-style Christmas dinner, but if you hunt around there will be British eateries that will serve up crackers and turkey!<\/p>\n

Mallorca celebrations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mallorca, largest of the Balearics, has lively spots combined with elegant and sophisticated towns, harbours and villages. Outside of the towns, Mallorca is still an unspoilt island of beauty and tranquillity. There are coves and beaches, sparkling clear water, ancient villages and numerous traditional Spanish fishing bays with the best seafood in the world.<\/p>\n
