Many dominate their locality from the highest point, thus providing great panoramic vistas. Take for an example Chianti, amongst the most beautiful hills of Tuscany, which is world renowned for the production of great wine.

One of the best things about this area is exploring the tiny roads and discovering hidden gems: beautiful and time frozen villages and towns where we can sense an atmosphere so unique to anywhere else.

Casale Marittimo is certainly one place you should visit, home to some stunning natural settings and lost medieval villages where time pauses. It is also not so far from the sea, so you have fresh breezes to cool the summer heat.

San Gimignano is a medieval town in the heart of the Tuscan countryside in the province of Siena. Its architecture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And Sienna itself requires a whole article just to describe its stunning location and many cultural and historical gems!

Unsurprisingly, there have been many international movies filmed in Tuscany; producers are always looking for those special qualities of light, atmosphere, and stunning views. Ridley Scott’s multiple award-winning ‘Gladiator’ was filmed here, to depict a paradise scene he wished to create. La Vita è Bella (Life is Beautiful) was also filmed in Tuscany, with good reason!

Tuscany is one of the most visited Italian regions, and for good reason.
