It covers an area of 30km by 20km (around 18,530 hectares) and centres on Mount Torrecilla (1909m above sea level).<\/p>\n<p>The park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1995 and has to be one of the finest destinations for walkers in Aldalucia thanks to the rich variety of wildlife, flora and fauna as well as the vast choice in walks to do in many directions and at\u00a0different grades of difficulty. There are signs for different routes (and their distance) all over the place so it\u2019s difficult to get lost and a great place to explore.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_776\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-776\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/torrecilla.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-776\" title=\"torrecilla\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/torrecilla.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/torrecilla.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/torrecilla-310x310.jpg 310w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-776\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mount Torrecilla (1909m above sea level)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The park is stooped in history and used to play host to highwaymen and outlaws believe it or not. When you walk around the park you\u2019ll no doubt stumble upon one of the &#8220;pueblos blancos&#8221; (White Villages) or serranos &#8220;high lands&#8221;, which are very traditional villages still inhabited today.
