S\u00f3ller honours Francisca and Catalina Casasnovas who played a heroic part in the defence of the town.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">May 15th<\/strong><br>S\u2019Horta &#8211; celebrates its patron saint\u2019s day of Sant Isidro.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">May\/June<\/strong><br>Corpus Christi &#8211; (not a set date as it depends on the Easter dates) &#8211; this is a very old traditional parade in Pollen\u00e7a Town. The unique dancing display, Ball de les Aguiles (Dance of the Eagles) takes place.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">2nd Sunday in June<\/strong><br>Selva &#8211; herb fair with stalls selling local handicrafts and produce such as cheese, liquors, pottery and a fiesta with little devils and the distilling of myrtle.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">June 13th<\/strong><br>In Art\u00e0 they celebrate Sant Antoni de Padua with dancing in the streets &#8211; this day is also called the Day of the Apricots. There are two red \u2018horses\u2019 and two \u2018black\u2019 ones while the lady\u2019s horse is white.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">June 24th<\/strong><br>Felanitx, Portopetro and Cala d\u2019Or &#8211; Sant Joan Pel\u00f3s &#8211; the man who represents John the Baptist &#8211; goes dancing through the streets of Felanitx to the sound of specific flute, guitar and violin music. Also celebrated in Dei\u00e0, Muro and Sant Joan is the fiesta of the summer solstice Sol quan balla.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">June 29th\/30th<\/strong><br>Feast of Sant Pere &#8211; patron saint of fishermen &#8211; with sea-going processions. This is very popular in the Port of Alc\u00fadia. (It is also celebrated in Palma, Alar\u00f3, B\u00fager and Esporles.)<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">June 30th<\/strong><br>Marratx\u00ed (near Santa Maria) has its main fiesta celebrating Sant Mar\u00e7al. There is an excellent market of siurells, a craft fair of ceramics and pottery, art exhibitions, dances and fireworks. Concerts, parades, sports and art events, also featuring maritime processions, culminating in a magnificent firework display on the beach on the last Sunday night.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">July 16th<\/strong><br>Portocolom, Portocristo, Cala Figuera and Port de S\u00f3ller also celebrate Virgen del Carmen with a maritime procession.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">July 19th\/20th<\/strong><br>Felanitx &#8211; Els Cavallets (little horses): With a horse\u2019s head strapped around the waist, the young people perform old medieval dances in the streets of Felanitx accompanied by the Authorities to the sound of bagpipes, flutes and drums. Fiestas also held in Cala Sant Vicen\u00e7, Santa Margalida and Santa Maria.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">July 25th<\/strong><br>Sant Jaume &#8211; celebrated in several towns &#8211; Alc\u00fadia of which Saint James is the patron saint, Binissalem, Llucmajor, Muro, Sa Pobla, Santany\u00ed and Portocolom.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">July 26th &#8211; 2nd August<\/strong><br>Pollen\u00e7a\u2019s fiesta. A week of dancing, concerts and exhibitions held in Pollen\u00e7a ending with the simulated Moors and Christians Battle on 2nd August. The procession starts in the main street and continues to the old football ground, which is located just outside the town on the road to Lluc by the roundabout.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">July 27th\/28th<\/strong><br>Valldemossa &#8211; Feast of Santa Catalina Tomas. Caimari, Campos, Sencelles and Sineu celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">August 16th<\/strong><br>S\u2019Alqueria Blanca and Portopetro &#8211; celebrate Sant Roc.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">August 28th\/29th<\/strong><br>Famous celebration in Felanitx &#8211; Sant Agustin. On Saturday, the parade of giants comes out accompanied by Els Cavallets and the devil. They perform several dances in the streets to the sound of bagpipes, flutes and drums. Also the Festival at the Sanctuary at Lluc.<br><\/p>\r\n      <p class=\"maintxt whte dtemain\"><strong class=\"dte\">September<\/strong><br>During the last week of September the wine festival is held &#8211; Festes des Vermar in Binissalem. The celebrations last 3 days. The Day of the Virgins is celebrated all over the island. Originally the young men would serenade their girlfriends.
