This is in fact a secondary route that offers some magnificent views and takes you off the beaten track a little where you will discover churches hermitages and pilgrims\u2019 hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>The route starts at Puigcerd\u00e0, one of the main towns in the Pyranees. Make sure you check out the old convent of Sant Dom\u00e8nec and the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_891\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-891\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/convent-of-Sant-Domenec.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-891\" title=\"convent of Sant Dom\u00e8nec\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/convent-of-Sant-Domenec.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-891\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Convent of Sant Dom\u00e8nec<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Take the N-154 to Ll\u00edvia next and be sure to check out the 15th-century pharmacy (Europe\u2019s oldest), the church of Mare de D\u00e9u dels \u00c0ngels, the old Rectory and the tower of Bernat de So. You\u2019ll find that the road often turns into track, but don\u2019t worry they are completely suitable for cars \u2013 just watch out for the odd pot hole.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Continue along the N-260 to Ur, which is your next stop. At Ur you\u2019ll discover the church of Sant Mart\u00edm which is stunning. Take the track to Bolvir de Cerdanya (this is the original road to Santiago) and look out for the church of Sant Jaume de Rigolisa. You\u2019ll arrive at Puigcerd\u00e0 where you should check out the bridge of Sant Mart\u00ed d\u2019Arav\u00f3 (an ancient Roman Bridge). At Bolvir there is the interesting little hermitage of El Remei, and also the church of Santa Cec\u00edlia.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_892\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-892\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bridge-of-Sant-Marti-dAravo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-892\" title=\"bridge of Sant Mart\u00ed d\u2019Arav\u00f3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bridge-of-Sant-Marti-dAravo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Bridge of Sant Mart\u00ed d\u2019Arav\u00f3<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Follow the River Segre from here, you\u2019ll be tasked with crossing the water a few times but nothing to worry about. If you don\u2019t fancy the water obstacles then you can always turn back and take the main read to the end of this stretch and do it backwards along the wider stretch of track leading out from Is\u00f2vol.<\/p>\n<p>When you leave Bolvir, you will pass Saga \u2013 make sure you take a look at the church of Santa Eug\u00e8nia. Head for Olopte and discover the church of Sant Pere, then head to Is\u00f2vol to the sanctuary of Mare de D\u00e9u de Quadres.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_893\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-893\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/church-of-Santa-Eugenia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-893 size-medium\" title=\"church of Santa Eug\u00e8nia\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/church-of-Santa-Eugenia-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-893\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Church of Santa Eug\u00e8nia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You\u2019ll find that the track comes to an end after the sanctuary and leads onto the main road near Is\u00f2vol. Either drive on and rejoin the track at Baltarga, or else go to Alp and take the GIV-4033 to Bellver de Cerdanya. You can also go straight on to Bellver, a large village with a lot to see and a dozen Romanesque churches dotted around its municipal district.<\/p>\n<p>The main attraction along this stretch of the route is the large basilica of Santa Maria de Tall\u00f3. it is also interesting to visit Santa Eug\u00e8nia de Nerell\u00e0, the church has the only complete Lombard bell tower in the county, with an inclination of 1.25 metres that has earned it the nickname of the \u201cLeaning Tower\u201d of the Cerdanya county.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_895\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-895\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Santa-Eugenia-de-Nerella1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-895\" title=\"Santa Eug\u00e8nia de Nerell\u00e0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vintagetravel.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Santa-Eugenia-de-Nerella1-300x256.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-895\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Santa Eug\u00e8nia de Nerell\u00e0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following the route, you\u2019ll reach Martinet de Cerdanya.
